ATLANTA, Ga. - North Florida women's basketball's academic excellence was honored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) with WBCA 2022-23 Academic Top 25 Team honor roll honors, as announced by the national organization Tuesday, Aug. 1.
The Osprey squad was selected to be the fourth-ranked team among NCAA Division I institutions on the WBCA honor roll with a cumulative team GPA of 3.769. Earlier this summer, all 11 UNF players from this past season were given ASUN Honor Roll recognition as well.
"We are proud to celebrate this prestigious academic accomplishment by our student-athletes! To finish fourth in the nation out of 350 Division I teams is absolutely incredible," said head coach Erika Lambert of the national recognition. "Our North Florida basketball players continue to set the bar high for excellence in the classroom. They are smart, hardworking, diligent and very driven in their pursuit of academic and career goals. This top-25 GPA honor would not be possible without the wonderful academic support provided by UNF Athletics."
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season.
