Behind the Line Score
- FGCU got on the board in the first, but Dominick Madonna limited damage after consecutive singles to open the frame. The righty showed toughness, taking a line drive from Harrison Povey off his arm before battling back and allowing just an Edrick Felix sac fly.
- UNF tied it up in their half of the first. Aidan Sweatt singled, Jakob Runnels was plunked and Alex Lodise pulled an RBI single through the left side.
- The Ospreys took a 2-1 lead in the second. Matthew Clements reached on a two-out error, Austin Brinling walked and Sweatt ripped a high fastball to left for the lead.
- UNF sent seven batters to the dish in the fourth, scoring three two-out runs. Down in the count, Clements golfed a curve into left for a single. One batter later Brinling ripped a double into the gap before scoring on a stolen base an a throwing error by FGCU's catcher. Sweatt extended the inning and was scored on a Runnels double and misplay on the hit in left.
- Two-out damage persisted in the fifth. With two away, Gabriel Esquivel singled through the left side and Dallen Leach homered one batter later. Clements and Brinling walked and Sweatt chopped a single over third base to plate Clements. Brinling scored on a passed ball for the 9-1 advantage.
- FGCU got two runs in the seventh on a Jacob Lojewski home run, but reliever Will Ohme inherited two runners and rolled a double play on the first pitch to get out of the frame.
- Just as FGCU got some momentum, Runnels took it away with a two-run line shot home run to the scoreboard in left for an 11-3 lead.
- FGCU filled the bases with two outs and Lojewski hooked a grand slam just over the wall down the left field line, making it 11-7 in the eighth.
