JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida Athletics celebrated the many achievements of its student-athletes in and out of the classroom with the fifth edition of the Ozzies hosted at the Andrew A. Robinson Theater on the campus of the University of North Florida.
The ceremony featured a pre-show with photo opportunities, food, a 360 camera and music before student-athletes were honored for their achievements. The event was hosted by the "Voice of the Ospreys", Richard Miller, featuring a variety of speaking opportunities and videos.
Award winners were nominated based on their achievements, statistics and through collaboration between coaches, sports administrators, strategic communications staff and senior staff. Nominees were selected as winners via a voting period accessible via social media last week.

Most Improved Team: Baseball
Most Improved Female Athlete: Ana Paula Melilo (Women's Tennis)
Most Improved Male Athlete: Rodrigo Crespo (Men's Tennis)
Best Female Team Performance: Women's Golf -- 2022 ASUN Championship
Best Male Team Performance: Men's Golf -- 2022 NCAA Championship Appearance
Best Individual Female Performance: Kit Gulihur - Women's Tennis (22-straight singles wins)
Best Individual Male Performance: Nick Gabrelcik - Men's Golf (NCAA Championship Appearance)
Manny Velasquez Perseverance Award: Ana Paula Melilo (Women's Tennis)
Female Freshman of the Year: Madison Espy/
Presley Murray (Beach Volleyball)
Male Freshman of the Year: Alex Lodise (Baseball)
Female Newcomer of the Year: Mahalia White (Volleyball)
Male Newcomer of the Year: Mac Franks (Men's Cross Country & Track and Field)
Osprey Spirit Award: Oscar Berry (Men's Basketball)
Osprey Leadership Award: Ashley Cozad (Swimming)

North Florida's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee also issued a series of fun awards for categories such as:
