Softball Drops Twin Bill Against Jacksonville State

Culp Tallies Four Hits Over Both Games

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - North Florida softball (19-14, 2-6 ASUN) dropped its ASUN twin bill, including a 2-1 heartbreaker, against Jacksonville State (22-9, 8-0 ASUN) on Saturday afternoon.

The Ospreys found themselves in a deep hole early during the first game after giving up four runs in the first inning in the 8-1 loss. During the second game, UNF held a one-run lead with only two hits allowed through five innings, but a go-head solo homer from the Gamecocks in the sixth gave the hosts the lead for good.

Chloe Culp combined for four hits over the span of both games against JSU, including a 3-for-3 performance in the second doubleheader game with the run scored to take the lead. Izzy Kelly also pitched a complete-game with only three hits allowed, but suffered her third loss of the season.
