Cai Cards Career-Best Score to Tie for Seventh Overall

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's golf played well to round out its home tournament week after scoring 10-over 874 to place with a share of third among 17 teams at the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate presented by Gravity Plus on Tuesday afternoon.

The Ospreys rose up to third with a final round score of 4-over 292 after finishing eighth after round one and fourth after round two. They also finished the meet with a player inside the top 10 and two players among the top 25 on the player's leaderboard.

Jessie Cai had the most impressive performance of her career with a career-best 54-hole score at 2-under 214 in her home meet. After placing tied for 11th in last year's UNF Collegiate, she takes a share of seventh with a final round score of 3-under 69 with four birdies and 13 pars.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

Cai earned her fourth round under par and first tournament under par this season after her 3-under 69 in the final round.
It was also her first top-10 finish of the season and the first round in the 60s since the final round of the Evie Odom Invitational this past fall.
The Hamburg, Germany, native tied for the most pars in the field at 42 total and finished in the top five for par-four average (1-under).
Christin Eisenbeiss just made it inside the top 25 for the sixth time this season with a final round score of 1-under 71.
Both Cai and Eisenbeiss had top-10 par-five averages at 3-under through all three rounds.
Daniela Gonzalez picked up steam in the back half of the final round to notch a share of 34th at 7-over 223.
She also completed the final home meet of her career with a top-10 par-three average (1-under).
Eisenbeiss joined Gonzalez behind Cai for the fourth-most pars among individuals with 40 total.
Sarah Scott exploded for six birdies on the final day after only having four combined in the past two rounds.
She finished with the sixth-most birdies with 10 total and joined Gonzalez at 7-over 233 on the week.
Wyndom Burnett rounded out the team score for the Ospreys at 11-over 227 that put her just outside the top 50 individuals.
Kaitlynn Washburn also finished strong as an unattached individual with a final score of 17-over 233.
UNF finished the meet with the most pars at 186 total and the third-best par-five average (6-under).
The Ospreys had a player place inside the top seven individuals for a fifth straight season at the UNF Collegiate.
