The Junior Sits Tied For Eighth Overall

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. - Christin Eisenbeiss paced the way for North Florida women's golf as she scored 4-under 140 to hold a share of eighth through the opening day at the Briar's Creek Invitational hosted by the College of Charleston Monday afternoon.

The Ospreys as a whole got off to a slow start in the first round, but rebounded in the second round to improve by 11 total strokes. Three Ospreys had improved scores in the second round as well, including Daniela Gonzalez who shot 1-under 71.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

Eisenbeiss was one of five players with 10 or more birdies on her way to a 4-under day through two rounds at Briar's Creek.
She had only one hole in the first round at was worse than par and scored four birdies in a span of five holes during the second round.
The former All-ASUN selection sits tied for the lead on par-three average (1-under) and tied for sixth in par-four average (2-under).
Gonzalez scored her fourth round under par this season on her second go around to bring her total to 6-over 150 after the first day of play.
She currently leads the team in pars with 24 total, including nine straight in the second round.
Jessie Cai comes off her top-10 finish at the UNF Collegiate with three birdies in the first round and 14 pars in the second round to card 7-over 151.
She was also right behind Eisenbeiss in the top six for par-three average (even-par), along with a top-10 average for par-five holes (3-under).
Sarah Scott and Wyndom Burnett finished out the day for UNF with scores of 8-over 152 and 20-over 164 respectively.
The Ospreys moved up three spots in the team rankings from the first to the second round.
UNF was the only team outside the top eight to have a played inside the top 10 overall.
They also totaled 105 pars and 26 birdies with a top-five par-three team average (7-over) as well.
