RALEIGH, N.C. - Aidan O'Gorman rewrote the record books once again after breaking his own mark with a time of 28:59.90 in the 10,000m race to wrap up the Raleigh Relays on Friday evening.

The New Smyrna Beach, Fla., native becomes the first Osprey runner in program history to eclipse a sub-29 minute 10,000m. The senior broke his record by almost 20 seconds and only one day after Macauley Franks broke the outdoor school record for the 3000m steeplechase.

  • Achieved a remarkable performance in the race clinching the 10k in 28.59.90.
  • Placed top 20 out of over 100 contenders at the Raleigh Relays.
  • Went for a sub-29 mark in the race and edged out several runners from Tennessee, Villanova, Princeton, Central Arkansa, North Carolina and Duke.

PIGG'S POINTS

"28:59.90 in the 10,000m race is a great mark for our new school record. What a great race. Aidan [O'Gorman] embodies what our program is about. He lives clean, works hard and is very dedicated. He is hungry and willing to do all the extra things that make him a great runner. I'm really proud of him."
