JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The North Florida women competed well in multiple events to round out a successful outdoor-season opener at the River City Classic on Friday afternoon. The home course advantage worked in favor for the Ospreys at the Visit Jax Track in Hodges Stadium, as the women left the scene with several lifetime achievements after competing in the high jump, 800m, 1500m and pole vault.
Ella Chandler put up great numbers in her collegiate outdoor debut after posting a top-four placement for the women's 800m run. She headlined the group with a personal-best achievement of 2:13.10 in the race.

PIGG'S POINTS
"Ella [Chandler] had been sick this week and we weren't sure if she would even run. She ended up running 2:13.1, which is a lifetime best and that's just a good opener for her. She kind of came in with no expectations and did good after not knowing how she would feel. She handled that really well and wasn't nervous. She just went out and executed a really good race. It was a superb way for her to start the outdoor season as well. Kaley [Petrosky] always came in and did a good job in the high jump, so that's a good start for her as well. So happy to see that."
