LAKELAND, Fla. - The North Florida women's cross country team turned in its first competition win of the season, as the Ospreys earned first out of 14 fielded teams at the SSC Preview Meet hosted by Florida Southern on Friday evening.
Gianna Forte led the Ospreys with a top individual finish with a 6k time of 22:42.99, followed by Erica Fisher, Isa Leen and Emma Millson also filling up the top five in Lakeland, Fla. The senior finished almost 13 seconds faster than the second-best time in the field.
FINISH LINE
- The Osprey women went number one in the final regular season meet of the season.
- Forte clinched the top rank for the Ospreys crossing the line in first.
- She finished the race in 22:42.99 with a monumental lead over several high-ranked contenders.
- The women notched seven runners in the top 10 of the race.
- Fisher maintained phenomenal strides smashing the second-place title in the meet.
