
Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at Rod Myers Invitational

Gabrelcik Earns 17th-Career Top-10 Placement
DURHAM, N.C. - After sharing the lead heading into the final round, North Florida men's golf could not find its rhythm on Saturday afternoon, as the Ospreys finished the weekend fourth at the Rod Myers Invitational hosted by Duke.
Nick Gabrelcik turned in his 17th-career placement inside the top 10 to start his junior season. He carded 2-over on the day with three birdies to tie for eighth with an overall score of 3-under 214.
The top scorer for the Ospreys in the final round was Lance Yates, whose last tournament played before this weekend for UNF was as an individual at The Hayt from Mar. 27-28, 2022. He notched three birdies on the front nine to turn in a even-par 72 score.
UNF finished ahead of teams such as FGCU, Missouri, Virginia Tech and Penn State.

ROUND REFLECTIONS
- Gabrelcik shot seven consecutive pars to start his final round and combined that with three birdies in the final 10 holes to secure his spot in the top 10.
- The Trinity, Fla., native also finished second for birdies at the meet with 15 total, as well as top-10 spot in both par-four and par-five average scores.
- Yates finished tied for 23rd for his first-career top-25 placement as a part of the team's score.
- He played in five tournaments last season, with four being as an unattached individual.
- Robbie Higgins is the third Osprey this weekend to finish in the top 25, as he turned in a final score of 3-over 219 overall.
- Cody Carroll and Davis Lee both finished just outside the top 25 with rounds over par on Saturday.
- The Ospreys finished the final round as the only team with all five players inside the top 30.
- No other team has all five players within the top 45 on the player leaderboard.
