
Men's Golf Announces Tournament Schedule for 2022-23 Season

Will Host The Hayt From Feb. 5-6
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's golf has announced its tournament slate for the 2022-2023 season. The Ospreys look to repeat their success in 12 tournaments this upcoming season, including their eighth ASUN Championship title in program history.
"We have a team with a bunch of returners and this schedule should challenge us to be prepared to make another run to NCAA Finals," said head coach Scott Schroeder. "Some fun places to return to on the schedule, as well as places that we haven't been in the past few years with the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate and Schenkel Invitational."
Back-to-back ASUN Golfer of the Year Nick Gabrelcik will be returning for his junior season, while First-Team All-ASUN Robbie Higgins and ASUN Freshman of the Year Jason Duff join him for next season. Senior Davis Lee and graduate Cody Carroll are also experienced pieces that return as key parts to the Osprey team.
UNF is scheduled to play five events in the fall and seven events in the spring, with five total events being played in the home state of Florida. During the spring season, they will host their 31st-annual The Hayt tournament at Sawgrass Country Club from Feb. 5-6.
This group will attempt to make another run back at the NCAA Championship for the second season in a row, as well as their fourth time in five years. They also have their sights set on adding another ASUN Championship, as they have advanced to the NCAA Championships every year they've won the ASUN title since 2018.

Tournament Tidbits
- UNF's schedule includes 12 total tournaments (five in fall, seven in spring).
- First time since 2018 that they will be playing five or more fall events.
- Also will be most tournaments played during regular season since 2018-19.
- Ospreys participated in seven of the 12 events this past season.
- Seven tournaments will be played in two days, while five of them will use three days.
- Most three-day tournaments since the 2016-17 season.
- Schedule to compete in seven different states (North Carolina, Illinois, Florida, Hawaii, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee).
- Played in five of seven states during 2021-22 season.
- Spring season will start with three straight tournaments located in Florida.
- Will return to Gator Invitational after not participating last season for the second time in program history.
- Playing in Mason Rudolph Championship for first time since 2007.
- Second consecutive year playing an event outside the contiguous United States.
- Will play eight days of golf in a span of 15 days, including trip to Hawaii, to end the fall season.
- Also have only two days rest in between General Hackler Championship and Schenkel Invitational in the spring.
- The Hayt being played from Feb. 5-6 is its earliest date in the tournament's history.
- Also the first time the event will be played in February since 2017.
- Look to repeat as The Hayt team champions, Nick Gabrelcik have sights set on individual three-peat.
- Gabrelcik also aims for medalist repeats at the Sea Best Invite and ASUN Championship.
- Ospreys aiming for back-to-back conference championships and 13th consecutive NCAA Regional appearance.
- Also seeking to clinch a spot in the NCAA Championship for second consecutive year, as well as their fourth time in five years.
