Season Opens Sept. 23, First Home Meet Sept. 30
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida swimming releases its 2022-23 schedule featuring five home dates in the second year at the UNF Aquatic Center.
The 2022 portion of the schedule is the most full of the two portions, with UNF competing in seven different meets during the fall. The 2023 slate sees UNF competing in three road meets, not including in the CCSA Championships in Knoxville, Tenn., Feb. 15-18.
"This season we have a good mix of different teams we are competing against," head coach Ian Coffey said. "We have teams from the SEC, ACC, C-USA, Missouri Valley and CCSA this season and I can't wait to get the season started. Our program is going to swim against teams we have not competed against before in Arkansas-Little Rock and in our first Osprey Invite. Our goal is to swim against the best competition at each meet. The South Carolina Invite is a new mid-season invitational for this year which should be a great meet for us. Finishing up the season with three meets against CCSA programs will get us prepared for the conference championships."
Fall Season
UNF goes to Little Rock, Ark., Sept. 23 to begin the season before entering a home stand. The Ospreys host Florida State, Old Dominion, Tulane and Georgia Southern Sept. 30 under the lights to open up the home schedule. The teams return the following morning Oct. 1 for the second half of the Osprey Invite.Â
Two weeks later UNF welcomes another high profile opponent in Vanderbilt in addition to Georgia Southern for the second time in as many meets.Â
After a trip to Tallahassee for a quad meet against Florida State, West Florida and Florida Southern Oct. 21, UNF hosts the Savannah College of Art and Design Oct. 28.Â
The lone meet in November sees UNF go to Columbia, S.C. for the South Carolina Invite. A home meet against Indiana State Dec. 17 concludes the home schedule and the 2022 portion of the year.Â
Spring Semester
The short sprint before the CCSA Championships includes three meets in January, beginning with a dual meet at Campbell Jan. 14.
UNF meets familiar foe Georgia Southern Jan. 21, while also taking on East Carolina in a tri-meet. A dual meet against FGCU Jan. 27-28 concludes the regular season as the final tune-up for the CCSA Championships.Â
The four-day CCSA Championships are set for Knoxville, Tenn. Feb. 15-18.
