Women's Golf Opens at Ninth in NCAA Tallahassee Regional

Eisenbeiss and Herrick Lead Way in Top 15
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - No. 49 North Florida women's golf starts its week at Seminole Legacy Golf Club in ninth place after the first round of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional.
The Ospreys finished Monday with a score of 17-over, which sits only six strokes behind the three teams tied for fourth at 11-over. They will be aiming for a top-four team spot in the regional to advance to the NCAA Championships.
The ninth-place finish through day one for UNF is their best starting placement for a regional in program history. They are one of nine top-50 teams in the Tallahassee Regional and currently have leads over No. 26 Illinois and No. 46 Denver.
Christin Eisenbeiss and Mindy Herrick both hold a share of 15th with seven combined birdies between the two of them through round one. It is the first time in program history that a pair of Ospreys sit within the top 15 through the completion of any round in an NCAA regional, while it is also the second time Eisenbeiss has placed in the top 15 after the first round.

- Herrick notched her best single-round score in an NCAA Regional for her career at 2-over 74 and joins Eisenbeiss with a share of 15th.
- She also places in the top 10 for most pars with 12 total and is seventh for average par-five score in the tournament at 2-under, 4.50.
- Sara McKevitt saved her best for the back nine with a run of three birdies in four holes, as well as a 2-under score through those nine holes to place tied for 25th at 3-over 75.
- She holds a share of third in average par-five score at 3-under, 4.25, in which she birdied three of the four par-five holes on Monday.
- Daniela Gonzalez scored a 10-over 82 first round on Monday and Jessie Cai rounded out the Osprey group with a score of 12-over 84.
- The Ospreys are one of six teams that have three players ranked inside the top 25 and one of seven teams to have two players ranked inside the top 15.
