Beach Volleyball Wins Twice on Senior Day

Seven Ospreys Honored Prior to the Doubleheader
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida beach volleyball capped a Senior Day send-off with a doubleheader sweep Friday, April 8 at The Coop as the Ospreys (17-10) defeated Southeastern Louisiana (9-14) and Jacksonville (9-19).
Prior to the matches, UNF beach volleyball honored one of the most impressive groups of Senior Day honorees in program history. Lauren Galinis, Taryn Griffey, Leah Maloney, Gabby O'Connell, Marisa Rogers, Carleigh Semeniuk and Callie Workman were all recognized in front of friends, family and teammates.
Match 1: UNF 4, SLU 1
UNF won at courts four and five to take a 2-0 lead. Chantel McMillan and Marisa Rogers were the first on the board, winning 21-18 and 21-19. Leah Maloney and Hayden Wooldridge won sets one and three to pick up UNF's second point. The duo overcame a 21-10 loss in the second frame before proving victorious, 15-8 in the third.
Gabby O'Connell and Lauren Galinis won in straight sets at the third slot in their first match as a duo, clinching the match. Zoe Cahill and Julianna Askew added another win, doing so in three frames at the second position, the duo's first-ever win at the second slot.
SLU's lone team point came at the top slot.

A dominant performance from Mariana Feliciano-Sanchez and Madeline Camp at the fifth slot gave UNF its first team point against the Dolphins. It was the duo's first-ever match together, teaming up as a pair of freshmen with a bright future with the program.Â
Chantel McMillan competed with a familiar playing partner in Hayden Wooldridge, with the duo winning their fourth-slot match, 20-22, 21-14, 15-7.Â
JU got a team point back at the second slot and also took the third slot, but not after Callie Workman and Taryn Griffey clinched things with a commanding 21-10, 21-17 win.
