Baseball Takes One of Two in DeLand Behind Holden’s 8.0-Inning Effort
Holden's outing featured a UNF-career-best eight punchouts across 105 pitches as the Ospreys (10-19, 2-7 ASUN) upended Stetson, 6-2, in the first of two games in DeLand.
It was Stetson's turn in game two though, as Hatter righty Cole Stallings had all of his pitches working in a 3-0 shutout win for the hosts in the seven-inning series finale.
Also of note, Cade Westbrook extended his reached base streak to 16 games with a pair of hits. Tony Roca took a no-hitter into the fifth inning of game two despite being saddled with the loss in a five-inning and two-earned run effort by the junior lefty.
Stetson and North Florida stayed true to its fast-paced games together. Sunday's doubleheader combined to elapse just over four hours. The nine-inning affair lasted just two hours and 29 minutes.
