Women's Golf Wins Third ASUN Championship in Program History

Clinched Berth to NCAA Regional Tournament
VALDOSTA, Ga. - No. 48 North Florida women's golf edged out Kennesaw State by four strokes to become champions of the 2022 ASUN Tournament at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.
After a slow start to the day with only four combined birdies as a team in the front nine, the Ospreys picked it up once again in the back nine with nine birdies, including three straight from Mindy Herrick, to secure their third ASUN Conference Championship in program history.
Christin Eisenbeiss made the ASUN All-Tournament team in back-to-back years, while Herrick made the All-Tournament team for the third time in her career. Herrick also turned in her fourth-career top-10 finish in the conference tournament.
UNF and Kennesaw State were combined for the past six ASUN Tournament titles heading into this week. The Ospreys were able to break a three-year title streak for the Owls to pick up their third team title since 2016 and first since 2017.

- Eisenbeiss turned in her fifth top-10 finish of the season after carding a 1-under 71 final round to receive All-Tournament honors tied for fourth.
- Herrick joins Eisenbeiss on the All-Tournament team, as she also finished the week at 1-under after her even-par 72 score during the final round.
- She also notched her eighth career top-five finish and 17th-career top-10 finish, which both are all-time top marks in the program's history.
- This is the second time for both Eisenbeiss and Herrick in the top-four placements of the ASUN Championship, as Eisenbeiss placed fourth in 2021 and Herrick placed fourth in 2018.
- Sara McKevitt put together her third consecutive round of even-par 72 to finish her week at a consistent even-par 216 that ranked her sixth on the leaderboard.
- Jessie Cai was the fourth Osprey to place in the top 10 after her final round of 5-over 77 gave her a 7-over 223 finish in the tournament.
- Daniela Gonzalez improved in the third round at 4-over 76 to wrap up the Osprey group at 14-over, which puts her tied for 28th.
- The Ospreys finished the tournament with four players within the top 10 of the leaderboard for the second year in a row.
- UNF finished with the top team average par-four score at 12-over, while also tying for the most pars on the week with KSU at 177 total.
North Florida will await to hear their named called to one of the six host sites for an NCAA Regional tournament auto-bid as ASUN champions. The NCAA D-I Women's Golf Selection Show will be shown on the GOLF Channel on April 27 at 5 p.m.
