Ospreys Conclude 2022 Home Finale With Twin Bill

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After a pair of two-hour plus beach volleyball matches, North Florida (19-12) was edged in both ends of a twin bill against No. 19 Stetson (15-15) in the home finale at The Cooper Beach Volleyball Complex Wednesday, April 13.

Both matches elapsed over two hours as the long-time rivals battled it out. Six different courts over the 12 courts saw matches go to three frames.

Match 1: #19 Stetson 4, UNF 1
Freshmen Mariana Feliciano-Sanchez and Madeline Camp eyed a win at the five slot to tie the overall match up, 1-1, but Stetson's Lauren Domel and Noelle Weintraub got hot to start the third frame and give Stetson a 2-0 lead.

Stetson eventually clinched the match at the top slot, despite a marathon second set between Carolina Ferraris and Anete Namik of Stetson and Taryn Griffey and Callie Workman. The Hatters edged UNF, 25-23, and turned in a straight-sets win at the second slot.

Gabby O'Connell and Lauren Galinis were back in action together, providing a three-set win after things were clinched.

Match 2: #19 Stetson 4, UNF 1
A pair of three-set heartbreakers titled in Stetson's favor as the Hatters took a 2-0 lead after courts four and five were finished. North Florida dropped both courts in three frames, with Feliciano-Sanchez and Camp coming up just two points short in a seesaw third frame.

Stetson won a pair of two-set matches at slots two and three, but this time a three-set contest went in UNF's favor as Griffey and Workman won a quality match against Ferraris and Namike.
