Softball Dominates on Opening Day of UNF-JU Spring Break Challenge

Ospreys Shut Out Opponent For Fourth Consecutive Game
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A pair of fantastic pitching performances and two multi-hit days from Kayla Harper moves North Florida softball (13-5) to five straight wins after victories over Fairleigh Dickinson, 8-0, and Saint Francis, 6-0, on Friday afternoon at UNF Softball Complex.
Erin Kyle and Morgan Clausen each took command on the mound this afternoon, as they did not allow a run on the day and only gave up a combined six hits. Harper was also lights out with four hits, three runs, and three RBIs over both games, including an inside-the-park home run against FDU.
The Ospreys have now held their opponents scoreless over their past four games and have scored 37 runs combined in their last five games.
The combination of Harper's bat and Kyle's arm pushed the Ospreys to defeat Fairleigh Dickinson by run-rule in the fifth inning in an 8-0 shutout.

- Ospreys got their bats hot early after Abi Annett singled down the line to send home two runners in the first inning.
- Logan Jackson put a ball into play, but an error by FDU scored another run for the Ospreys with the bases loaded to go up 3-0 to end the first.
- In the third, Takiya London stepped up big at the plate with an RBI-single that scored another pair of runs to expand the UNF lead to five runs.
