Semeniuk and Galinis Set UNF Record for Most Wins As a Pair
KENNER, La. - North Florida beach volleyball (13-6) won both of its matches on day one at the New Orleans Invitational, defeating Spring Hill (9-5) and host UNO (10-8) Thursday, March 24. UNF duo Lauren Galinis and Carleigh Semeniuk picked up two wins, reaching 45 as a duo, good for the North Florida program record for most wins as a pair.
The long-standing playing partners eclipsed Katarina Raicevic and Courtney Miller's mark of 43 set at the end of the 2017 campaign.
UNF has two more matches tomorrow in Kenner, La., completing UNF's only regular season contests outside of the state of Florida.
Match 1: UNF 4, Spring Hill 1
Semeniuk and Galinis won the clincher in straight sets on the heels of a pair of straight-set wins by the Ospreys at slots four and five. Spring Hill got its lone points of the day at the third slot as Taryn Griffey and Callie Workman added insurance with a 21-8, 21-13 win to dominate Spring Hill's top duo.

UNF had swept UNO in both of its matches back in 2015, and Thursday the Ospreys won in the same fashion, earning North Florida's first true-road win of the year. Zoe Cahill and Mariana Feliciano Sanchez rebounded after a first-set loss to earn a 15-13 deciding set win in the third frame, giving UNF a 2-0 lead.Â
UNF got on the board first thanks to a straight-sets triumph by Madeline Camp and Chantel McMillan at the fourth position. Gabby O'Connell and Hayden Wooldridge played as a pair for the first time on the year, winning 25-23, 21-19 to clinch the match.
