Men's Golf Posts Strong Final Round at General Hackler Championship

Davis Lee Turns In Second Top-10 Finish of Career
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - No. 36-ranked North Florida men's golf tied for the third-best final round to jump five spots from Sunday's finish to grab a share of sixth place at the General Hackler Championship.
The Ospreys finished out the back half of the second round after play was halted due to weather delays and came out strong in the final round with four scores recording at par or better. They finished over several ranked teams in the tournament, such as No. 46 Kent State, No. 39 Liberty and No. 33 Louisville.
Davis Lee impressed with his 5-under 211 weekend that included two rounds in the 60s to place within the top 10 for the second time in his career. He was one stroke shy of his career-best 18 round score of 6-under 66 in the final round on Monday.

- Lee had a fantastic final round of 5-under 67 that included six birdies to complete his 5-under 211 weekend with a share of ninth place.
- He was tied for third in average score par-three holes (2.83, 2-under), which helped him put together his best round of the season through seven tournaments played.
- Nick Gabrelcik recorded his 22nd round in the 60s of his young career on Monday and had the eighth-most total pars to help him finish out the tourney tied for 32nd at 1-over 217.
- Robbie Higgins had the third-best average score on par-five holes, including an eagle in the final round, to help him share 32nd with Gabrelcik at 1-over 217 as well.
- Brandon Mancheno posted his best round of the season at 2-under 70 on the final day of play, while Lance Yates joined him at 53rd to match his combined score of 6-over 222.
- Cooper Smith had the seventh-most total pars as an unattached player on his way to finishing as the third-best individual player tied for 53rd at 6-over 222.
- The Ospreys were one of six teams throughout the tournament to have two eagles.
- UNF was also tied for second in average score on par-three holes (3.02, 1-over), fourth in average score on par-five holes (4.72, 17-under), and fifth in total birdies (47) in Myrtle Beach.

North Florida looks to regroup from this weekend and prepare to host their home tournament, The Hayt, from Mar. 27-28 at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
