Gabrelcik Placed Third, Higgins Finished Top 10

PLACIDA, Fla. - Nick Gabrelcik and Robbie Higgins both shot in the 60s for the final round of play to lead North Florida men's golf to a runner-up finish at the Coral Creek Club Invitational.

This is the Ospreys' third straight top-three finish to start the spring season, as they turned in third-place finishes at both the Sea Best Invitational and the Nexus Championship. It is also the third-consecutive tournament that Gabrelcik has finished in the top 10 this spring.

UNF finished ahead of four squads ranked in Golfstat's top 50 teams, including two top 30 teams in No. 18 Texas A&M and No. 27 South Florida.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

- Gabrelcik carded all three rounds in Placida at par or better to bring home a share of third with a score of 5-under 208.
- Gabrelcik was also tied for third in average par-three score, along with being tied for third in most total birdies, including three in a row on the front nine this afternoon.
- Higgins posted back-to-back top-eight finishes after scoring a tournament-best final round for the Ospreys at 4-under 67 to grab a share of eighth place at 2-under 211 combined.
- The Ospreys were one of two teams to have two players place in the top eight on the player's leaderboard.
- Davis Lee rebounded in round three with another even-par 71 score to finish the tournament tied for 37th at 5-over 218.
- Cooper Smith and Jason Duff rounded out the Osprey grouping with scores of 7-over 220 and 8-over 221 respectively.
- Lance Yates finished tied for 12th as an unattached individual with an exceptional score of even-par 213, while Cody Carroll tied for 68th at 13-over 226 as an individual as well.
- UNF were ranked in the top three for both par-three average scores as a team (3.10, +6) and total pars (179) through all three rounds.
