Men's Golf Trio Places Top 12 at Nexus Collegiate

Ospreys Finish Third in the Bahamas
NEW PROVIDENCE - The North Florida men's golf trio of Robbie Higgins, Nick Gabrelcik and Jason Duff all carded top-12 finishes in the Bahamas, as the Ospreys turn in a top-three finish at the Nexus Collegiate.
UNF placed third in a field of nine teams, finishing over two top-35 teams in No. 27 Clemson and No. 32 Indiana, as well as ASUNÂ opponent Jacksonville State.

- Robbie Higgins finished in the top 10 for the first time in his career after scoring 12-over 228 to tie for seventh at the Nexus Championship.
- This is Higgins' best finish since he tied for 11th twice at the 2021 Isleworth Collegiate Invitational and the 2021 General Hackler Championship.
- Nick Gabrelcik carded his 11th top-10 finish of his career with a score of 14-over 230 to place tied for 10th in the Bahamas.
- Jason Duff posted another top 25 score at 17-over 233 to finish tied for 12th after tying for 21st at the Sea Best Invitational last month.
- This trio dominated in different facets of the course, as Duff tied for the second-best par-three average (3.00, E), Higgins tied for the lead on average par-four scores (4.04, +1), and Gabrelcik tied for fifth in average score on par-five holes (5.07, +1).
- Duff (37) and Gabrelcik (11) also led all players in total pars and total birdies respectively.
- Davis Lee joined Gabrelcik and Duff with a solid third day score of 4-over 76 to finish tied for 23rd at 21-over 237.
- Cody Carroll rounded out the group tied for 39th at 29-over 245, while Lance Yates carded 20-over 236 to place 22nd as an unattached individual.
- North Florida had three of eight players score over 31 or more pars in the invitational, as they were the only team to have three players over 30 total pars.
- The Ospreys joined Auburn, the tournament champion, as the only team to have three players finish within the top 12 players and four players to finish within the top 25 of the leaderboard.
- UNF recorded the second-highest team average on par-four holes (4.36, +43), as well as the most total pars (151) throughout the tournament.

North Florida will return from the international trip and prepare for the Coral Creek Club Invitational hosted by Florida Gulf Coast from Feb. 28-Mar. 1 in Placida, Fla.
