Christin Eisenbeiss Among Top 10 Individuals

STATESBORO, Ga. - North Florida women's golf starts its week tied for fifth after one round of play at The Southern hosted by Georgia Southern on Monday afternoon.

Christin Eisenbeiss was the top scorer for the Ospreys in the first round with a score of 2-over 74 that puts her at seventh overall. Jessie Cai and Wyndom Burnett are right behind Eisenbeiss at the top of the leaderboard, as they are both tied for 13th overall at 3-over.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

Eisenbeiss played her best on the front nine with two birdies and no hole worse than par on her way to a 2-over 74 start in Statesboro.
She also sits inside the top 10 for average par-four score at 1-over after recording two of those birdies on par-four holes.
Cai had a nice debut in the leadoff spot for the Ospreys with two birdies to hold a share of 13th at 3-over 75.
The junior also finds herself inside the top five for average par-five scores at 1-under.
Burnett also had two birdies, with one on each side of the course, to join Cai in 13th at 3-over 75.
Eisenbeiss, Cai and Burnett all have 12 total pars in which they're all tied for eighth among the field.
Daniela Gonzalez had three birdies on the day, with two of them on par-three holes, to get to 8-over 80 after round one.
Both Burnett and Gonzalez have been finding their success on par three holes, as they both rank tied for second in average score on those holes at 1-under.
Kaitlynn Washburn wrapped up the opening round for the Ospreys with a score of 11-over 83 to put her just outside the top 50.
Anastacia Johnson made her debut with the Ospreys as an unattached individual, as she matched Washburn's score of 11-over 83.
The Ospreys are one of four teams to have three players among the top 15 individuals.
UNF has a par-three average team score of 4-over, which ranks third among all teams, as well as having the fifth-most pars at 49 total.

UP NEXT

North Florida returns to play in the second round of The Southern on Tuesday, Oct. 18. UNF will tee off at 8:30 a.m. on the first hole and will be grouped with Incarnate Word and fellow ASUN opponent, Kennesaw State.
