Moore Leads the Way With 22, Bond Posts 18 Points and 8 Boards

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's basketball (8-9, 1-4 ASUN) scored 22 in the second quarter, Rhetta Moore scored 22 for the game and the Ospreys won their first ASUN game of 2022, 66-49, against the Kennesaw State Owls (5-10, 1-3 ASUN) Wednesday, Jan. 19.

The Ospreys shot 10-for-22 from beyond the arc, outscored the Owls by 16 in the second frame and held KSU to 32.7 percent from the floor to win in convincing fashion.

First Quarter: KSU had its best quarter of the ball game as the Owls led 17-12 after one … Amani Johnson has eight points for KSU and the Owls outscored UNF 7-0 in second chance scoring.
Second Quarter: The tide turned in the next quarter as UNF got 10 points from Rhetta Moore, a pair of momentum buckets from Kaila Rougier to close the quarter and an 11-point lead heading into the break … the Ospreys outscored KSU, 22-6, for the frame, holding Kennesaw State to 2-for-12 shooting.
Third Quarter: Teams traded three-pointers in the early going as KSU stayed within double-digits for the first few minutes of the third … after Moore made a layup off a KSU turnover, putting UNF ahead 44-33 with 5:21 on the clock, the game never returned to a single-digit contest … Jazz Bond converted a pair of back-to-back three-pointers to help push the game out of reach.
Fourth Quarter: Both teams played even in the fourth, scoring 11 apiece and reeling in eight boards each, but UNF's massive lead held strong.
