Men's Golf Opens Fall Season in 3rd after Day One at Rod Myers Invitational

FIRST TEE — Led by a trio of golfers in the Top 25, North Florida men's golf opened its fall tournament schedule Saturday at the Rod Myers Invitational hosted by Duke. The Ospreys ended day one in third place at 8-under through 36 holes of play.

ROUND REFLECTIONS
- Senior Grant Sutliff was the Ospreys top performer on the opening day posting back-to-back rounds of 3-under 69 to rank T4th
- Sophomore Nick Gabrelcik also carded two consecutive rounds under par with a 2-under 70 and a 1-under 71 | Currently ranked T16th
- Sophomore Robbie Higgins trimmed eight shots off his opening round en route to firing the team's low round of the day with a 4-under 68 in the afternoon session | Currently listed T23rd
- Freshman Jason Duff, making his collegiate debut, opened with an even-par 72 in round one
- North Florida collected 123 pars over the first 36 holes (ranked 2nd in field) and were led by 28 from Gabrelick
- The Ospreys produced 30 birdies paced by 10 from Sutliff
- As a team, both UNF rounds finished under par for the day
