JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The North Florida track and field teams tallied five medalists on the first day of the ASUN Outdoor Conference Championship. Junior Nathan Jubran was tabbed the men’s 10,000m champion and set the ASUN outdoor meet record with a time of 29:30.48.

Men's 10000m

"Nathan did a great job leading from the gun. He wanted to make it a nice steady pace and an honest race. He looked strong and said he felt very good. I am proud of how he handled the expectations and captured the win while setting the ASUN Conference record." Jeff Pigg

“Aidan competed very well. In the 10K you suffer and he handled the discomfort very well. He stayed focused on his goal or running under 30:00 which is a big bench mark in the race. He continued to push himself and I am proud of him.”

“Jake ran another gutsy race. I know he wanted to place higher but he has been dealing with some back tightness and he managed the race very well. Once things tightened up he maintained control and finished strong.”

Women's 10000m

“Raquel ran a very smart race. She went out at a nice pace and continued to grind. She moved up from ninth place all the way to top five. She works very hard and is consistent in her efforts. I was so thrilled to see her move up in the last half of the race and finish so strong. It was a nice PR to close out the season.” – Head Coach Jeff Pigg

Women's Pole Vault

“Louisa continues to be money at the conference meet. She is such a steady person I am never surprised to see her clutch performances. She is an all around great athlete and even greater person. It was nice to see her finish with another podium at the ASUN Championships.” – Head Coach Jeff Pigg

Women's 3000m Steeplechase

“Mia McLain continued to learn about the steeple. She hurdled much better and ran tough. You could tell she was hurting but she continued to compete especially over the last 100 meters. That effort earned her fifth place by only 2 1/100th in a very exciting finish. She has a very bright future in this event.” – Head Coach Jeff Pigg

Men's 3000m Steeplechase

“Leo Queyrou ran a well calculated race. He had a plan to access how things were unfolding and he executed it perfectly. I am proud of how he handled this season as he faced some health setbacks. He continued to work hard and search for ways to be successful. Ending with his best ASUN finish was very nice!”

“Gavin O'Brien has really found his event.. Each time he gets better and has a bright future in the steeple. He competed very well today and showed some real grit with his finish to capture third place.”

“Michel has had a nice journey from trying out for the team to many miles and hours of hard work to learning a new event and now being a conference scorer. I am proud of his persistence in this journey and glad he will be back next year for even more success.”
