Austin Bogart Homers in His First At-Bat Against Former Team
DeLAND, Fla. - Despite being interrupted by an extended weather delay, North Florida baseball (10-15, 4-3 ASUN) weathered things better than Stetson (19-11, 5-2 ASUN) in a 7-3 defeat of the ASUN South Division leading Hatters Friday, April 16.
Solo home runs from Austin Bogart and Abraham Sequera, a staunch effort by the bullpen and crisp defense keyed the series-opening triumph in DeLand.
A one-hour and 54-minute weather delay occurred in the top of the second inning before play was resumed. Subsequently, both starting pitchers had their nights come to an end after one inning of work.

Behind the Line Score
- The game entered a lightning delay in the top of the second inning. It turned in to a rain delay with the game resuming at 8:45 p.m.
- Austin Bogart tagged a hanging curveball for a solo home run to center in the top of the third.
- Stetson tied the game, 1-1, in the third. A leadoff single, wild pitch and two-out base hit got the Hatters on the board.
- North Florida responded, taking a 2-1 advantage in the fourth. Grant Grodi reached on a throwing error, moved up to second on another Stetson miscue and Aidan Sweatt doubled him home with two outs despite being down in the count, 0-2.
- In the top of the fifth, UNF grabbed a 5-1 upperhand. Abraham Sequera worked an eight-pitch at-bat before hooking a solo home run inside the right field foul pole.
- Grant Grodi singled and was doubled in by Alex Kachler, giving UNF a 4-1 lead. Blake Marabell walked and a wild pitch was uncorked, scoring Kachler.
- Stetson's Ryne Guida doubled before Christian Pregent scored Guida with a triple to center. Andrew MacNeil plated Pregent with a sac fly.
- The Ospreys widened the lead to 6-3 in the seventh. Grodi walked, Kachler doubled off the wall in center, Trey Spratling-Williams drew a hit by pitch and Blake Marabell scored Grodi with a sac fly.
- With a runner at second and two away, Sweatt made a leaping snag of a soft liner to save a run in the bottom of the seventh.
- Marabell registered his second sac fly of the night in the ninth, scoring Kachler after he singled and moved up two bases on a Stetson throwing error.
