FIRST TEE — Bolstered by the low round of the afternoon session, No. 26-ranked North Florida men's golf moved to the top of the leaderboard Sunday in the opening day of play of The Hayt at Sawgrass Country Club.

- Freshman Nick Gabrelcik, ranked No. 4 in the nation, carded back-to-back rounds in the 60s shooting a 3-under 69 and a 4-under 68 to take the lead in the medalist competition by one shot
- Fellow freshman Robbie Higgins posted a second round 4-under 68 to earn a T4 ranking thru 36 holes of play
- Junior Cody Carroll also ended the day among the Top 20 highlighted by a 1-under 71 in the morning session
- Ospreys shot a 5-under 283 as a team in the morning round followed by a 3-under 285 in the afternoon, as the only team finishing under par in the second round
- Newcomer Brandon Mancheno, playing as an individual, is tied for 16th in his Osprey debut | Opened the day with a 4-under 68
- Gabrelcik had just one bogey in 36 holes and played his final 11 holes in 4-under
- Ospreys led the field in Par 5 scoring at 17-under (4.58 avg)
- UNF tallied 119 pars on the day led by 27 from Nick Gabrelcik
- North Florida totalled 32 birdies | Grant Sutliff and Brandon Mancheno shared the team lead with 9 each
