Track and Field Thrives in Distance Events on Day One of FSU Relays

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The North Florida track and field teams saw success in the distance events on the first day of the FSU Relays. Nathan Jubran placed first in the men's 5000m and Camryn Cooney earned a second-place finish in the women's 5000m.Â

The UNF track and field teams return to Tallahassee tomorrow for the second day of the FSU Relays. The Ospreys will compete in the high jump, 400m, 400m hurdles and 1500m.

- Jaasiel Torres placed fourth in the high jump (2.02m)
- Louisa Washburn tied for seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 3.80m
- Kaley Petrosky came in just short of her outdoor PR with a mark of 1.64m, placing seventh
On the Track
- First-place finisher Nathan Jubran completed the 5000m in 14:21.30, a personal recordÂ
- Sophomore Aidan O'Gorman finished right behind Jubran placing second with a time of 14:33.80 in his first outdoor 5000m
- Freshman Jake Turner finished fourth in the 5000m (14:40.11)
- Camryn Cooney had a second-place finish in the 5000m with a time of 7:44.76
- Grace Gumpel and freshman Mia McLain finished fifth and sixth respectively
