
Track And Field's Ortiz And Castillo Earn ASUN Performer Of The Week Honors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Track and Field junior Avaunt Ortiz and sophomore Madeline Castillo earned ASUN weekly honors on Wednesday, March 25.Â
Ortiz was named ASUN Men's Track Performer of the Week and Castilo was tabbed ASUN Women's Track Performer of the Week. It marked the first outdoor conference weekly honor for both Ortiz and Castillo.Â

Ortiz was a part of a pair of program records at the River City Relays. He surpassed the program record in the Men's 400m with a first-place time of 46.66 and was the anchor leg for the Men's 4x400m Relay record with a time of 3:10.63 to win the event.Â

Castillo won the Women's 10000m with a personal-best time of 35:25.42 at the Black and Gold Challenge.
