Koskey Helps UNF Split with Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball had a walk-off 2-1 win in eight innings in game one, but fell to Jacksonville, 2-0, in game two Saturday at the UNF Softball Complex.Â

How it Happened
- Both teams plated a run in the opening frame and headed into extras.Â
- Jacksonville led off with a double, moved over on a sac before scoring on a single.
- In the Osprey side of the inning, Kayla McGory reached on a one-out single before moving on a passed ball. She came around to score on Shannon Glover's hit to left field to tie the game.
- The teams stayed knotted, with the Dolphins leaving five on base and UNF stranded six.
- In the eighth inning, Morgan Clausen sat JU down in order. North Florida then had a leadoff walk from McGory who then stole second.
- Bilodeau and the Dolphins got the next two batters, but Rebecca Koskey was ready to end the game as she sent a two-out double to the left fence to score the game-winning run.

How it Happened
- It took one swing of the bat in the fourth inning for Jacksonville to win the game. Caroline Watson sent a deep single to left field and allowed two runners to score.
- Arends was lights out, recording a career-best 13 strikeouts with just four hits and one walk surrendered, but on the offensive end the Ospreys stranded seven runners on base.
- North Florida's best chance came in the fifth as Taylor Engman had a two-out single before McGory hit a double to put runners in scoring position. Whitty got the next batter swinging to end the threat.
Notes
- McGory was 3-for-6 on the day with one double and a walk. She also recorded the team's lone stolen base.
- Logan Jackson had three hits across the two games, while Shannon Glover and Engman recorded a pair.
- Clausen fanned six batters in 8.0 innings pitched, allowing just six hits and two walks.
