FIRST TEE — Following a three-week break, the No. 28-ranked North Florida men's golf team returns to competition at the General Hackler Championship on Mar. 14-16 at the Dunes Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

THE FIELD: 16 Teams (Current Golfstat Top 100 Rankings / thru 3-9-21)
- North Florida is making its 13th overall and 7th consecutive appearance at the General Hackler
- Ospreys are a three-time champion of the event (2019, 2015, 2012)
- General Hackler was the last event UNF participated in last season before all events were canceled due to COVID
- UNF finished 6th last year highlighted by a trio of golfers in the Top 25: Cody Carroll (T8), Michael Mattiace (T10) and Davis Lee (T25)
- Three golfers in the Osprey lineup this season played in the General Hackler last season: Carroll, Lee and Nick Infanti
- Field features 12 of 16 squads listed in the current Top 100 highlighted by six Top 50 teams
SCORECARD REPORT
- Freshman Nick Gabrelcik leads the squad with four Top 25 finishes including a trio of Top 5 showings highlighted by the medalist crown at the Sea Best Invitational
- Seven of Gabrelcik's 12 competitive rounds have been in the 60s this season
- Gabrelcik was named to the "Watch List" for the prestigious Haskins Award, presented to the collegiate Golfer of the Year
- Thru four events, UNF boasts 11 Top 25 individual finishes
- North Florida collected the team crown at the Sea Best Invitational marking the 30th team title in the program's Division I era
- Ospreys have captured a tournament championship in each of the past five seasons

- Ospreys posted an 8th place finish at the Seminole Intercollegiate on Feb. 19-21
- Nick Gabrelcik and Grant Sutliff shared team honors for top finish, tying for 21st with matching scores of 216

"Guys have had a few weeks off and we should be fresh and ready to roll this week. The golf course is one of my favorite and it will be fun to see how our new guys handle it."
