JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball struggled in its home opener as Illinois State grabbed the 4-0 win to kick off the River City Leadoff.

How it Happened
- Illinois State scored in the opening inning on a pair of hits and an Osprey miscue.
- North Florida kept the visitors off the board until the fourth, when a hit-by-pitch and a sac fly allowed two to come home for a 3-0 advantage.
- In the sixth, the Redbirds added another run on an RBI single from Mack Leonard.
- The Ospreys left runners stranded in the first and second frames, but struggled to find a rhythm as Day fanned 12 batters.
