TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Despite a trio of double-digit scorers, North Florida women's basketball (0-1) fell in their season-opener, 78-50, to No. 16/24 Florida State (1-0) on Tuesday evening at the Donald L. Tucker Center.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

First Half
- UNF started off the game hot after a three from Jazz Bond and a pair of buckets from Rhetta Moore, giving the Ospreys an 8-5 lead.
- The Noles scored 13 straight before sophomore Nubia Benedith hit a jumper to stop the bleeding at the end of the first period.
- The Ospreys scored eight points in the final three minutes of the second period, including four from Tiffany Tolbert, to cut the Seminole lead before half.

Second Half
- North Florida converted on four straight three-pointers to highlight its third quarter.
- Jazz Bond led the Ospreys in the second half with seven points and was 3-6 from the field.
- Summah Evans followed closely behind Bond with six points in the second half, adding three rebounds.

"I thought we struggled to get into an offensive rhythm and I think that their size and length really gave us some problems with generating some opportunities that we felt good about going into the game. On the other end defensively, I thought we had some really good stretches where we competed and battled, but their size, again, took over in the paint with their rebounding and second chance points." -- Darrick Gibbs

- Jazz Bond, Tolbert, and Moore all scored in the double-digits with 10 points each.
- Summah Evans led the team with three steals, while also scoring seven points and bringing down four rebounds.
- The Ospreys had nine players earn playing time in Tallahassee with all nine of them scoring.
- UNF opened the season at FSU for the second time in the last four seasons.
- This is the first of a program-record five games against Power Five schools this season.
- Although the Ospreys showed better percentages from three, 24%-21%, and from the free throw line, 75%-67%, the Noles had their number on the boards, 48-32, and executed scoring in the paint, 40-16.
