Osprey Club and UNF Alumni Engagement Host "FORE" Scholarships Golf Classic

JACKSONVILLE -- Bolstered by a perfect "Chamber of Commerce" weather day, the Osprey Club and the Office of Alumni Engagement partnered to host the seventh annual UNF "Fore" Scholarships Golf Classic, sponsored by Geico and All About Events, on Sept. 27 at Jacksonville Golf & Country Club.
"The 2021 UNF Fore Scholarships Golf Classic was a tremendous success," UNF Athletic Director Nick Morrow stated proudly. "I greatly appreciate all the sponsors and golfers who participated in the event. The weather combined with the atmosphere and camaraderie was fantastic. We were able to raise nearly $90,000 in support of First Generation and Student-Athlete scholarships. The Fore Scholarships Golf Classic goes a long way towards the Athletic Department goal of fully funding scholarships for all of our 19 teams."
The event featured a single shotgun format boasting a sold-out field of 32 foursomes (128 golfers). A total of $89,298Â was raised to support scholarships for University of North Florida students. This record-breaking revenue number will provide scholarship support for both First Generation UNF students and student athletes at the University of North Florida.
The always competitive event was again enriched by the support of various sponsors beginning with registration breakfast provided by Chick-Fil-A at the St. John's Town Center along with cold brew coffee supplied by Lucky Goat Coffee. Smoothie King treated participants and volunteers to a cool, refreshing smoothie on the course and Angie's Subs, a Jacksonville Beach staple, provided the post-round meal.
Participants in the Fore Scholarships Classic enjoyed play on the well-manicured course facilities of Jacksonville Golf & CC, with winners and runner ups recognized in both gross and net divisions. Additionally, proximity prizes were awarded for the Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin on designated holes.
