Ospreys Drop Heartbreaker in Double Overtime at Bellarmine

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - North Florida men's soccer (2-5-1) was able to force overtime in the 84th minute with a header goal from freshman Joaquin Acuna, but couldn't close it out late with a 2-1 double-overtime defeat in a conference battle at Bellarmine (5-4-1).

- Acuna scored his fourth goal of the season after scoring three goals through his first three games.
- Junior Santiago Fonseca led the team with four shots, while Martins had three shots with two of them on goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The UNF defense held Bellarmine shotless through the first 15 minutes of the game, but allowed the first goal of the night to be scored to the Knights in the 18th minute.
- Goalkeeper Padraic Gilley had four saves in the first half to keep the Osprey deficit at one goal going into halftime.
- In the second half, UNF outshot Bellarmine, 10-6, with three on goal after being held to zero shots in the first half.
- All seemed final for the Ospreys in the closing minutes until senior Igor Martins crossed a beautiful pass into the box for freshman phenom Joaquin Acuna to head in for the equalizer.
- In the second period of extra time, Bellarmine was able to put in their second goal of the game to capture the win in double overtime.
