
UNF Hall of Famer Brittany Kirkland Named to ASUN All-Decade Team

ATLANTA, Ga. - Inducted into the North Florida Hall of Fame in October 2019, former Osprey Brittany Kirkland was named to the ASUN Women's Basketball 2011-20 All-Decade Team as 21 student-athletes were named to the list across seven programs.Â
Kirkland is the only Osprey to make All-Conference three times, including First Team selections in 2011 and 2012, Second Team in 2010 and All-Freshman in 2009. In 2010, she was also selected to the All-Tournament Team and was a two-time Player of the Week. She scored 1,571 Points to rank second in UNF history and averaged 13.0 ppg to rank third in the UNF record book. Kirkland is 20th all-time in ASUN history in total points and 18th all-time in field goals made. In the Osprey records, she ranks in the top 10 in field goals made, games played, games started, three-pointers made, free throws made, assists and steals.
Over the past 10 years, three programs have captured ASUN Championship titles in FGCU (6), Stetson (2) and Jacksonville (1) while eight student-athletes from six different institutions have landed Player of the Year honors. The Eagles advanced twice to the NCAA Tournament Second Round in 2015 and 2018, while going all the way to the Championship Final of the WNIT in 2016.Â
To be named to the All-Decade Team an individual must have competed for at least two years in the decade as an ASUN student-athlete. Individuals that obtained one of the following criteria were named to the team; three First Team All-Conference selections, four All-Conference selections, multiple Scholar-Athlete/Player of the Year, 1,500 career points or 1,000 career rebounds. Individuals that obtained at least two of the following criteria were named to the team; Player/Tourney MVP/Freshman/Defensive Player/Newcomer/Scholar-
