Martinez Signs with Men's Cross Country/Track & FIeld

JACKSONVILLE - North Florida men's cross country and track announces the addition of Seth Martinez to the 2021 signing class. Martinez joins fellow early signee Simon DeVoss in UNF's newcomer class.
"Simon and Seth both really seem to be a great fit for our culture. They embraced our clean living hard working mantra," said head coach Jeff Pigg. "Character, education and full commitment to running at a high level appeals to them. We want guys who really want to be here and they are a great fit. Both of them have done very well in high school, but I think their best running years are ahead of them. We want to carry on with all they have accomplished and see how great they can become. I am very excited they have joined our program."Â
Hometown: Ruskin, Fla.
High School: Lennard HS

Bio:Â Finished fourth at the Florida State Cross Country Championships ... Four-time boys cross country MVP.
Why he chose UNF:Â "I decided on UNF because of the team diversity and dynamic. Everyone is a little bit different and special in their own unique way. I think I'm going to really fit right in with the team and contribute to the program with my work ethic and talents. I also chose them because I can tell the coaches believe in me and I know Coach Pigg and the team will help me reach my goals and dreams."
