JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF hosts the first of two home invitationals on its 2019 slate when it welcomes Wake Forest, East Carolina and Mercer to Jacksonville Sept. 6-7.

UNF went 1-2 in its opening weekend at the UNCW Invitational … The Ospreys swept the season opener against Charleston Southern, although UNC Wilmington and Duquesne took the following two matches … Rocio Moro earned all-tournament honors for the Ospreys.

UNF is a combined 15-8 all-time against its three opponents this weekend … The Ospreys are most familiar with former ASUN member, Mercer, going 14-7 against the Bears … North Florida took its only meeting against ECU, a 3-0 victory against the Pirates September 8, 2006, in Charlotte, N.C. … Wake Forest topped North Florida 3-0 in Winston-Salem, N.C., back in 2011. Mercer and UNF last clashed in 2017, with UNF winning a 3-2 battle … The Ospreys hold a 7-3 advantage when playing in Jacksonville ... UNF played all 14 of its active players at UNCW last weekend … Four different Ospreys earned their first career starts in the Navy and Gray … Grace Peterson notched a pair of career highs, posting five kills and three blocks against Duquesne.

4. All-Tournament
Rocio Moro was named to the UNC Invitational All-Tournament Team August 31 … The freshman started all three contests in her first weekend of collegiate volleyball … The libero/defensive specialist tallied 58 digs for 5.8 digs/set across 10 sets of action ...Moro was also named ASUN Freshman of the Week September 3.

Wake Forest
Wake Forest swept its opening weekend of the Spartan-Demon Deacon Classic … WF won nine consecutive sets, defeating Presbyterian, NC Central and UNC Greensboro … Randi Smart is in her first season as the interim head coach, and third overall … The Demon Deacons return 15, losing only four from last year's 10-20 squad.

ECU
ECU comes into the weekend 2-0 after sweeping George Mason and dropping Providence, 3-2 … Bri Wood collected 35 kills and Sydney Kleinman posted 30 between ECU's two wins … Shelby Martin was selected to the AAC Preseason All-Conference squad … UNF played ECU's junior setter Marissa Harmon in Wyoming last year as the Frisco, Texas, native played for the Cowboys.

Mercer
The Bears are 3-1 after going 2-1 at the Mercer Bears Classic and taking a single match at Florida A&M Tuesday … Mercer finished 16-13 a year ago … head coach Derek Schroeder is entering his third season … The Bears were tabbed to finish second in the SoCon, its highest selection in program history.
