LEADERBOARD: No. 19 North Florida men's golf opened the season with a 4-under 284 on Sunday morning before struggling to a second round 303 on the first day of play at the Island Resort Intercollegiate.
FIRST TEE
- Freshman Drew Angelo made a stellar collegiate debut firing a 5-under 67 during the morning session before closing with a 76 and ending the day at 1-under 143 (T11)
- Senior Michael Mattiace finished day one tied with Angelo in 11th at 143 after rounds of 68-75
- Sophomore newcomer Grant Sutliff, a transfer from Kennesaw State carded a pair of 75s to rank T41 (150) while graduate transfer Nick Infanti ended the day T46 (151) following rounds of 74-77
- Sophomore Cody Carroll rounded out the Osprey lineup with scores of 75-78 to be tied for 55th (153)
- Freshman Davis Lee, playing as an individual, tallied rounds of 74-70 and ranks T14 at even-par 144
- North Florida is in sixth place with a 36-hole total of 587 heading into the final round
