LEADERBOARD: The No. 14 North Florida men's golf team had a strong performance in the opening round defense of the ASUN Championship, carding a 1-over 289 on Sunday at the Legends Course of Chateau Elan.

FIRST TEE
- Seniors Philip Knowles and Jordan Batchelor both finished in red numbers, firing rounds of 2-under 70 to share round one medalist honors
- Fellow senior Travis Trace opened with a 1-over 73 and ranks T6
- Freshman Cody Carroll shot a 76 in his ASUN Championship debut highlighted by a hole-in-one on the par 3, 124-yard Hole 7
- Senior Andrew Alligood rounded out the Osprey lineup with a 78 to rank T19 thru 18 holes of play
- North Florida's first round performance was the best in the field by eight shots

INSIDE THE SCORECARD
- Carroll carded the 6th ace of his lifetime, hitting his tee shot about 5 feet past the hole and then saw it spin back into the hole
- With his round of 70, Knowles collected his 21st round under par for the season, which raises his UNF program record
- Batchelor tallied his 10th round under par
- North Florida's lineup featured two of the just four players that finished under-par in the opening round
- Ospreys topped the field in both Par 3 (+1 | 3.05 avg) and Par 5 (-2, 4.90 avg) scoring in round one
- UNF paced the field with 60 pars led by Trace's tournament topping 15
- Batchelor collected 5 of North Florida's 11 birdies on the day | His total shared the round one lead
- Jacksonville's Thomas Thurloway was tied with UNF's duo of Knowles and Batchelor atop the individual standings
