Ospreys Must Win Additional Match to Advance to the Finals
DELAND, Fla. - Time, playing order and playing styles would all be adjusted to account for impending storms Friday, but when the sand settled the host Hatters (28-8) advanced to the finals of the ASUN Beach Volleyball Championship with a 3-1 win against two-seed North Florida (20-13).
UNF's match was played at 10:30 a.m., one hour earlier than the time slated for 11:30 a.m. as of the conclusion of the matches Thursday. Pairs one, three and five started the day, with all matches on the second day of championship competition being concluded at clinch.
Stetson 3, UNF 1
Match Notes
Wright's Words
"I think our team came out with a fire, especially at one, three and five. I felt that we controlled things for much of the time over there. The number one match was a critical match. They [Brittany Pase and Chaney Howard] played hard, they played a good first set, and in the second set my understanding was they adjusted a little bit and we struggled siding out. Mads and Nicole stepped up today and took care of business with their first win over Stetson. I knew that they could beat them. We have to fight through, wait for the winner of FGCU and Coastal Carolina and hopefully get another crack at them." -- Head coach Kristen Wright
