ORLANDO, Fla. - UCF (16-9) got out to an early lead and it clung to it, shutting out the Ospreys, 5-0, in a midweek contest at a misty John Euliano Park Wednesday, March 27.

Behind the Line Score
- UCF came out swinging in the first, going ahead by two. Ray Alejo clubbed a triple into right center and Tyler Osik rolled an RBI single up the middle. Matthew Mika grounded out to May at short, moving Osik up 90 feet. Dallas Beaver got on top of a Michaelis offering, roping an RBI single to right.
- Ryan Jean took the hill in the second, retiring five straight before Osik stroked a solo home run to right, making it 3-0 Knights.
- The Knights tacked on to their lead in the seventh, scoring two on a two-run blast to right from Beaver, plating Mika after his triple one batter earlier.
- UNF's best scoring opportunity came in the eighth. Blake Marabell poked a one-out single through the right side and Jay Prather roped his own into right center, putting runners at the corners. UCF got the last two outs of the frame via strikeout to quiet the chance.
