JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball takes a short trip to Bethune-Cookman for a Wednesday match up in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Against the Wildcats
- North Florida owns an 18-5 series edge against BCU all-time and are 4-4 as the visitors.

Clutch Cocuzza
- Senior Dominica Cucuzza leads the ASUN with a .553 average, while also topping the league with 15 RBI. She picked up six this weekend at the Madeira Beach Invite where she hit .533 for the weekend.
- She has now had a hit in all but three games and has eight multi-hit contests. She is currently riding a 11-game on-base streak.
- Cocuzza had her first-ever grand slam against South Dakota State on February 15.
Tops the Lineup
- Senior Navia Penrod and junior Taylor Engman have been hitting in the 1-2 spots of the line up and each own a three-game hitting streak.
- Penrod is hitting .300 for the year with 12 hits, while Engman, who has worked her way into the lineup is batting .333 and had four hits - all coming at the Madeira Beach Invite.Â
- The duo has crossed the plate 17 combined times.
Crafty Clausen
- Freshman hurler Morgan Clausen currently tops the staff with a 2.76 ERA in eight appearances, across 25.1 innings.
- She owns a 2-1 mark with nine strikeouts.
Scouting the Opponent
- BCU (4-11) is coming off of a 1-4 weekend in California, but the one victory was against No. 17 Oregon in the opening game for the Wildcats. They beat the Ducks, 5-3.
- Kaiya Epps-Lee was named the MEAC Player of the Week as she hit .400, going 6-for-15 at the plate at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. She drove in three runs with a double. Against Oregon, she was 2-for-3 with an RBI to get the win.
- In the circle, Victoria Guzman picked up her second MEAC Pitcher of the Week honor this season as she was 1-3 with the win against Oregon. She tossed four innings, allowing just two hits and fanning two in the game.
- Cheyenne Smith joines Epps-Lee as the two batters with double-figure hits. Smith owns 12, while Epps-Lee has tallied 14.
- Brianna Paysinger is second on the team with five RBI.
- Bermudez tops the pitching staff with 32 strikeouts, while Guzman is second with 23. The staff owns a 4.54 ERA as opposed to their opponents 1.30.
Looking Ahead
North Florida takes the weekend off before returning for a pair of home games on Tuesday, March 5 against Holy Cross and a second meeting with Georgetown on Wednesday, March 6. Both games are scheduled for 5 p.m.
