PIGG'S POINTS
Overall
"I love coaching this group of distance runners. I doubt many people look as forward to getting to work at 7:00 am each day as I do. We have a great group of kids who put their hearts and soul into trying to be the best they can be. So when we have a rough day I am disappointed for them but certainly not in them. The effort and preparation was excellent but this wasn't a great day for us We did have some excellent performances but as a whole, it didn't quite come together Win lose or draw I am proud to be their coach. I certainly want to credit Lipscomb with doing a fantastic job today." -- Head coach Jeff Pigg
Individually
"Nathan Jubran ran a strong race. He stayed with the leaders and looked in control but couldn't quite match the other two guys' speed over the last kilometer. He prepared well and is a fierce competitor. I'm really proud of how he has handled being our top runner all season long."
"Rob Leverone really stepped up in his last ASUN XC meet. He has overcome a few setbacks this year but when it really counted he came through big. He has been a strong and steady competitor for this program over his four years."Â
"Jared Vazquez has really grown into a good distance runner this season. He was the ASIN Champ in the 1500 so the challenge was to up his cross country game. It was a huge personal best for him. He has worked hard and has just been relentless in his pursuit."
"Andrew Stivers had the best race of his career today. He has really embraced the work it takes to run an 8K and the results are showing up. He did a great job today. His cross country season was good and his track performance will be even better."Â
"Anderson Bobo just continues to push the envelope on being tough when it counts. He is well prepared and ready for whatever challenge comes his way. I would say that today was his best race yet and we really needed it as he was our 5th man."
