THE FACTS: Men's Cross Country at NCAA South Region Championships

MEET DAY | The North Florida men's cross country team heads to Tallahassee for the NCAA South Region Championships Friday (Nov. 15).

OSPREY FACTS
LAST TIME OUT | Sophomore Nathan Jubran led the North Florida men's cross country team with a third-place finish overall and a personal record of 24:30.40 in the ASUN Championships … Senior Rob Leverone joined Jubran in the Top 10 with a sixth-place finish and a time of 24:52.77 … The Ospreys finished third in a field of nine conference teams in the 8K race.

MAKING STRIDES | The North Florida men's lineup features three All-ASUN runners including first-team honorees Jubran and Leverone, as well as second-team honoree Jared Vazquez … The Ospreys were ranked 10th in the USTFCCCA Week 6 South Regional Rankings.

NOTABLE OPPONENTS | The South Region Championships feature the top five teams from USTFCCCA's Week 6 South Region Rankings: Ole Miss, Middle Tennessee, Alabama, Florida State, and Belmont ... There will also be four other ASUN teams including conference champion Lipscomb, crosstown rival Jacksonville, Stetson, and Kennesaw State.

LAST YEAR AT SOUTH REGIONALS | Last year North Florida finished eighth in the 24 team field at the South Region Championships … Nathan Jubran paced the Ospreys, finishing 10th with a time of 31:35.5.

EVENT SCHEDULE | The women's 6K race will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the men's 10K at 9:30 a.m.

"We had a great two weeks of practice and both teams have worked hard to compete again. We are looking forward to lining up and race again. Rankings are rankings we'd like to beat those estimates of where people think we are competitively. Nathan continues to do a great job and I'm excited to see him have a chance to qualify for the NCAA Championship. Last year he missed it by one spot and UNF has never had NCAA qualifier ever so it's a big deal and what we're shooting for. Rob had a tremendous ASUN meet and had a chance to bounce back from his struggles this season. With it being his last meet expect I him to have a good race as well." --Head coach Jeff Pigg
