Jacksonville, Fla. – The North Florida baseball team battled back from a 6-1 deficit but came up one run short, 6-5 to fall to FAMU on Wednesday Night at Moore-Kittles Field.
LEADING OFF
- Chris Berry paced the Osprey offense with a pair of base hits including a seventh inning double.
- Five other Ospreys got in the hit column highlighted by Dalton Board with an RBI double.
- Tanner Murphy got on base four times with three walks and drew a hit by pitch. Murphy has now reached base safely in 20 straight games.
- Jay Prather with his fourth inning RBI single extended his reached base streak to a team-high 28 games in a row.
- Mac Wilson had his sixth multi RBI game with his sixth inning two-run single.
- Justin Tworek and Nick Marchese combined to throw three shutout innings down the stretch to help keep the Ospreys tight to FAMU.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Rattlers got out to an early 2-0 lead in the opening frame as they strung together three base hits.
- In the second, FAMU took advantage of a pair of Osprey errors to add a run and take a 3-0 lead.
- Jay Prather got the Ospreys on the board in the fourth with an RBI single to score Tanner Murphy.
- FAMU responded quickly with an RBI single to make it 4-1 in the fourth.
- The Rattlers added two more in the bottom of the fifth to take a 6-1 lead.
- UNF started its climb back with Blake Voyles reaching on a fielder's choice to make it 6-2.
- Mac Wilson followed with a two run single to make it 6-4 after 5.5 innings.
