STARTING BLOCK
The North Florida women's track and field squad produced a quartet of runner-up event finishes in the final day of competition at the ASUN Outdoor Championship en route to posting a third-place team finish.

AROUND THE TRACK
- Senior Claudia Jalon captured the silver medal in the 1500m, running a time of 4:33
- Senior Hallie Grimes closed out her Osprey career with a runner-up finish in the 400m with a PR time of 54.47
- Skye Zeller finished second in the 800m (2:12) to lead a group of three scoring runners for the UNF in the event. Freshman Syd Steele ran a PR 2:13.78 to finish fourth followed by senior Harley Horsley in fifth at 2:13.94
- Audrey Carpenter picked up points in her second event of the championship, finishing fourth in the 5000m with a strong time of 17:42
- Grimes led off the 4x400m relay quartet that notched a season-best 3:43.56, just .09 shy of the school record. She was joined on the relay squad by Steele, Jade Sullivan and Zeller

ON THE FIELD
- Alyssa Young posted a runner-up finish in the high jump following her mark of 1.64m (5-04.50). Khorri Newton also scored points for the Ospreys finishing sixth with a mark of 1.59m (5-02.50)

UP NEXT:
North Florida has four athletes that have qualified for the upcoming NCAA East Preliminary meet on May 24-26 in Tampa, Fla. The Ospreys that have posted regional qualifying marks/times include: Claudia Jalon (1500m), Eden Meyer (10,000m), Alyssa Young (High Jump) and Louisa Washburn (Pole Vault)

"It was nice for Hallie Grimes to close out her college career with her fastest time ever. She has been such a great leader for our program. Her daily work ethic and continous support of her teammates has been instrumental in helping instill a culture of hard work and strong values.

Alyssa Young has another very solid event. As senior that has done great things jumping and has also made great contributions to our value-based culture.

Audrey Carpenter followed up her fourth in the steeplechase with another solid fourth in the 5000m, running a lifetime best.

In the 800m, Skye Zeller, Syd Steele and Harley Horsley all did nice jobs. Syd and Harley both had huge personal bests and really came through.

The 4x400m relay team did a nice job. They crushed their season best and placed third in the event."
