Ospreys Travel To Spurs & Sand Open On Saturday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida beach volleyball continues its 2018 campaign on Saturday in the Spurs & Sand Open at the University of South Carolina. The Ospreys are scheduled to face Jacksonville and South Carolina on Saturday afternoon.

- Taryn Griffey and Chaney Howard were named the ASUN Pair of the Week after picking up a pair of wins over top 20 teams last weekend.
- The freshmen duo of Carolyn Cain and Blaire Register moved to 4-1 after picking up a two-set win over Texas A&M- Corpus Christi on Sunday.
- Courtney Miller needs just one more win to move into a tie for fourth in career wins as she owns 47 in her three seasons.
- Howard, with her two wins last weekend, moved into a tie for ninth in program history with 42 victories.

- Jacksonville comes into 2018 following a 7-19 season as it opens the season on Saturday.
- This is the first of three meetings the Ospreys and Dolphins have on the regular season schedule. The two teams meet at Jacksonville University on March 28 at 2 p.m. for a double dual. Â
- UNF has won each of its last six meetings against Jacksonville and has won 16 of 18 overall meetings from the Dolphins.

- After a perfect 4-0 weekend in the UNF Beach Invitational, South Carolina is eighth in the latest AVCA poll.
- At the No. 1 spot, Ali Denney and Shannon Williams lead the team with a record of 6-2. At the No. 5 spot, Hannah Edelman and Franky Harrison also sit with six wins.
- The Ospreys look to avenge a 5-0 loss on Sunday against the Gamecocks in the UNF Beach Invitational. In the head-to-head series, UNF and South Carolina have traded three game win streaks. Â Â
