THOUGHTS FROM THE TOP (Head Coach Jeff Pigg)
"It was a nice opener. The weather was beautiful and the kids competed very well. As most openers go, we had some good performances and it was a nice sign for things to come. It was a good starting point and now we just need to continue to make progress.
"Claudia (Jalon) ran a tactical opener and was able to close very fast and win her heat. She is off to a very good start. Hallie Grimes ran a nice PR in the 800m, which will yield some fast 400s later this season. She competed very well and is at a great spot as we move forward. Louisa (Washburn) had a PR in another great pole vault performance. She is doing so well. Her competitiveness and consistency are very impressive."
UP NEXT:
North Florida continues the outdoor season at the Florida Relays in Gainesville on Mar. 29-31. Eden and Grace Meyer are scheduled to run the 10,000m at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. on Friday.
